Wake up to Life How you utilise the time gifted to you is completely in your hands. Through this exercise, realise the value of your life, and thereby improve the quality of your life Life truly slips through the fingertips in the blink of an eye. However, it is not how many years you live that counts, it is how much life there is in those years that makes a difference. Practise this experiment to see if you are aligned to your life goals. Step 1 Sit in a comfortable position with your head, neck and back in a straight line. Gently close your eyes and breathe normally. Step 2 Recall your current age. Now imagine that you are going to die in 2 years from now. Notice how you feel. Would you live your life differently? Step 3 Imbibe the realisation of how precious your life is. What would you want to do with the time you have left? It could be becoming more sincere in achieving your spiritual goal; telling close family and friends how much they mean to you; closing accounts with someone who you have wronged in the past; pursuing a passion you have ignored so far or anything else – contemplate upon all these things. Step 4 After about 15 minutes of contemplation, gently open your eyes and write down all that you would now like as priorities in your life. Make action plans for their completion and enforce the changes needed to fulfil what means the most to you. See how this short exercise can bring about a drastic shift in your awareness by bringing more purpose and passion in each activity you pursue; making your life more vibrant and fulfilling.
